Edwardian Tearoom Dundee

This was the first tearoom in a departmental store. The building in Dundee was latterly known as the Arnott's Store.

A redevelopment of the site was undertaken by Dawn Developments - this was started in 2002 with the retention of the stone facade.

The completed building will provide modern shopping outlets within a new steel framed building behind the existing stone frontage.

The tearoom situated on the 3rd floor of the west side of the original building (over the close) was left intact but required rot eradication on the west gable and fire upgrading to the two cast iron central columns.

The refurbishment of the masonry facade and the "Pineapple" copula feature on the roof recreates the original external features of this impressive Dundee town centre building.
